ACCOMMODATIONS

????????????????????????????????????

Most tourist hotels in Bhutan are Standard Hotels in the 2-3 categories, with necessary facilities such as hot water, proper heating, telephone, television and Wi-Fi. Generally speaking, hotels in western Bhutan (Thimphu, Paro, Punakha) are of a higher standard than the ones in central or eastern part of the country, where accommodation establishments are modest with fewer amenities.

On treks, we choose the best available spot for the campsite and use camping equipment that are of high quality. In addition, all trekking trips are accompanied by a guide and a dedicated support team to help set up camp, prepare meals, and transport baggage & camping equipment.

Luxury accommodation

In addition to the 2-3 star standard hotels, there are a handful of 5-star establishments in the country. If you wish to indulge in a bit of luxury (especially after your arduous trek), you could opt for the following luxurious accommodation: Uma (Paro and Punakha), Zhiwaling (Paro), Taj Tashi (Thimphu), and Amankora (Paro, Punakha, Thimphu, Gangtey and Bumthang). Please note that luxury accommodation will incur extra charges. If interested, please do let us know and we will arrange it for you.

Farm-stay and Home-stays

For the adventurous ones, we can arrange for you to spend a night in a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse. Because the facilities are very basic, this is not for everyone. However, if you are up for the challenge, it will be a rewarding experience as you will get an excellent glimpse into the day-to-day life of a typical Bhutanese family. In addition to observing age old Bhutanese farming traditions, you will get to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals and the unparalleled hospitality of a Bhutanese host.
